Each year an
increasing number of regular NAU faculty are appointed to one
of our local campuses. These faculty, full members of their academic
departments on the Flagstaff Mountain Campus, have their teaching assignments
at local campuses. They advise prospective and current students, recruit,
mentor and evaluate our part-time instructors, collaborate with local community
college faculty and academic leaders to develop degree programs, and teach
local NAU classes.
Locally-based NAU faculty members teach alongside a cadre of highly
qualified part-time instructors. Our instructors, who live near
our local campuses and often work professionally in the field they instruct,
are held to the same rigorous standards as their full-time colleagues.
Because our Distance Learning classes average only about 20 students, chances
are that you will get to know your professors well. Use our
search option to explore the background and qualifications of current
faculty or read about recent accomplishments of our faculty members.
If you are an NAU faculty member, use our list of instructional resources
to complement your teaching skills. Or if you have a skill you'd like to share,
contact us about teaching opportunities.
