What is AZUN and how does it work?

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can take advantage of AZUN?
Anyone who has been admitted to Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, or University of Arizona can take classes through AZUN.

Is AZUN accredited?
All three participating AZUN universities are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Can I get a degree from AZUN?
AZUN does not issue degrees. Students receive their degrees from their home campus: Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, or University of Arizona. AZUN supports cross-registration for tri-university degree programs.

How much is tuition?
Tuition rates for all three participating AZUN universities are affordable and competitive, but vary slightly. Students participating through AZUN programs pay home campus tuition rates for classes they take from all three AZUN universities.

I live out-of-state; do I pay the same tuition rates as out-of-state students who attend classes face-to-face?
Out-of-state students who take classes through AZUN pay lower rates than out-of-state residential students. Out-of-state online students may qualify for a special World Wide University rate; check with your home campus advisor.

How do I apply to a specific program?
All AZUN programs require admittance to one of the three participating universities. You can begin your online application process today by visiting www.azun.net.

If I am a student at NAU, how do I enroll in a class through AZUN?
All you need to do is complete the enrollment form at www.azun.net and an AZUN home campus advisor will contact you.

If I am not a student at NAU, how do I enroll in a class?
If you are not currently enrolled in classes at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, or University of Arizona, you must select a home campus and apply before you can enroll. Once admitted, consult with your AZUN home campus advisor, who will help you enroll in classes.

How do I drop a class?
You must contact your AZUN home campus advisor to drop a class.

How do I get access to online classes?
Your AZUN home campus advisor will send you the access information along with your registration confirmation.

What classes are offered through AZUN?
For a complete listing of classes visit www.azun.net.

Is there a limit to the number of classes I can take via AZUN? You may take as many AZUN classes as allowed by NAU load limits and approved by your AZUN home campus advisor.

How do I receive credit for classes I take through a host university?
Upon completion of every enrolled semester, the host university automatically sends transcripts to NAU. Check with your AZUN home campus advisor if you have questions concerning transcripts.

To be an AZUN student, do I have to follow a degree track?
No, if you are not interested in completing a graduate or undergraduate degree, you may opt to complete a professional certification, or select from a wide variety of online classes for your personal enrichment. All degree and non-degree students must be admitted to ASU, NAU, or UA.

If I am an international student, how many credits can I take per semester?
International students living outside the U.S. may take the maximum number of credits allowed by the home campus.

How do I find a home campus advisor?
Contact an AZUN home campus advisor by going to www.azun.net and clicking on "Contact Us" then email or call the advisor from your home campus. You can also call the AZUN Service Center at 800-685-8102. Advisors help assess your transcripts to recommend classes that meet the requirements of your degree and align with your personal objectives.

How do I buy my textbooks?
Books are generally available through the host university's online bookstore.

How do I pay for an online class via AZUN?
All AZUN classes are paid for through your home campus. Contact your AZUN home campus advisor for details.

What if I have financial aid?
Your financial aid can apply to your AZUN class as it would toward your NAU classes. Contact the financial aid office at NAU for details.

Are there extra fees for taking an online class through AZUN?
Taking classes through AZUN does not generate extra fees. Your AZUN home campus advisor will let you know if there are any additional fees associated with the host university's online classes. Your home campus will bill you for any additional course fees.

I am having technical/computer problems with the course; who should I contact?
ASU dlt-tech@asu.edu 480-965-6922
NAU Academic Help Desk 1-888-520-7215
UA contact the course administrator
